Farquhar wins again on the roads and mixed fortunes for SHARK-men at Silverstone

At his home round and second meeting standing in for the injured Jonathan Rea, Alex Lowes was unable to finish a World Superbike race at Silverstone this weekend. The young SHARK-rider started each of the 18-lap races in 18th position on the grid, but Lowes fell on the sixth lap in race one, and retired in race two after finding he could not be competitive enough on his spare bike.

SHARK-riders in action at the Sachsenring and Oulton Park

During the German GP at the Sachsenring this weekend, local hero and SHARK-rider Stefan Bradl continued his podium dominance finishing in second place in the Moto2 race. A tense 29-lap battle saw Bradl and Marc Marquez dueling for the race lead, with Marquez eventually making it stick on the 24th lap. Bradl wasn’t able to make another move and Marquez took his fourth consecutive win. Bradl is still leading the championship by a healthy 47 points.

1-2 for SHARK on the WSS podium and SBK debut for Alex Lowes

The seventh round of the World Superbike Championship continued from a sunny Brno this weekend with podiums and points for SHARK’s supported riders.


 


Gino Rea took his first World Supersport win this season making full advantage of his front-row start, Rea led the field for ten laps before the race was red flagged. The results counted back to lap 15 saw Rea awarded the win by 0.448 seconds ahead of fellow SHARK-rider Fabien Foret. Sam Lowes was in contention for a strong podium finish, but he experienced loss of rear tyre traction and had a hard fight to finish in sixth place, where he lies in the overall championship.

SHARK-riders on podiums and in the points at Mugello and Snetterton

SHARK-riders scored three podium finishes during a hot and sunny Italian GP at Mugello, in both in the Moto2 and 125cc classes. Stefan Bradl continued his successful Moto2 campaign scoring a second place finish, and leads the championship by 52 points. Fellow SHARK-supported Aleix Espargaro came home in the top ten in ninth position. Continuing SHARKs racing success in the 125cc class, Johann Zarco finished on the podium in second place with Efren Vazquez missing out on a podium finish, in fourth. The MotoGP teams will now have a week off before heading to the ninth round of the championship at the Sachsenring in Germany on 22-23 July.

Farquhar's fantastic five and Lowes takes Mallory Park Race of the Year

Ryan Farquhar dominated the Bush Road Races on Saturday, winning all the five races he started. The SHARK-rider, still recovering from the injuries he sustained at the Isle of Man TT, was on top-form around his home circuit taking victories in the Open, Grand Final, Supersport, Supertwins and the 450cc event – Farquhar also set four new lap records.
